Volvo Vehicle Bulb Guide
Volvo Bulb References for Barbados Drivers
Original headlamp and front-fog findings checked directly against 35 NISSEI/POLARG records on 22 October 2026, across 19 model groups. These imported-vehicle catalogue scopes are not proof of Barbados, UK or every right-hand-drive application. Match original market, production period, literal chassis, body and factory lighting to the actual vehicle. This is not a confirmed vehicle shopping list or Riglow LED-conversion compatibility guide.

S40, 2004 onward, MB52, bi-xenon
D2S HID listed in both low and high fields (85V35W / 3502K); H11※ fog. This does not establish two separate HID bulbs or an interchangeable conversion. Preserve the bi-xenon scope. POLARG S40 bi-xenon record.
S40, 2004 onward, MB52, alternative source record
H7 or D2S HID low; HB3/9005 high; H11※ fog. Keep this separate from the bi-xenon high-field finding; do not infer every assembly pairing. POLARG S40 alternative record.

Source Qualifications
Only headlamp/front-fog positions were checked, not indicators, brake/tail, interior or other bulbs. Keep all ※ markers unresolved; review original source notes and actual assemblies before purchase. Blank fields do not establish absent functions or equipment. H4 in a low field does not establish absent high beam. Periods are year-only, not exact production months; overlapping boundaries require actual production and factory-lighting identification, not registration year alone. Open-ended dates do not establish continued production, later generations or unchanged equipment. Blank chassis fields remain unfilled.
Source ratings/parts generally print H4 12V60/55W / 0-02; H1 12V55W / 0-08; H3 12V55W / 0-13; H7 12V55W / 0-11; H11 12V55W / 0-20; HB3/9005 12V60W(65W) / 0-05. Preserve that literal HB3 rating order. D2S prints 85V35W / 3502K and D2R 85V35W / 3503K; D1S prints 85V35W with part blank. Do not transfer D2S/D2R parts to D1S. D1S, D2S and D2R are distinct; halogen/HID alternatives and bi-xenon field labels do not establish interchangeable bulbs, bulb counts or every assembly combination.
Identify Your Volvo and Its Lighting
Right-hand drive alone does not confirm fitment. Check the original regional specification, exact chassis, body, production period, trim and actual factory halogen/HID/LED package. Confirm the existing bulb markings and socket using your vehicle’s documentation and clear photos. Do not assume all light locations share a technology because the headlights are HID or LED.
Replacement and LED Conversion Checks
Confirm exact bulb type, connector, locating tabs, retention, dust-cap and cooling clearance, voltage and intended beam/function before choosing a product. Original bulb findings do not establish LED-conversion compatibility or beam performance. CANBUS labels do not guarantee freedom from warnings, flicker or other electrical issues. H8/H9/H11 names and similar connectors are not blanket compatibility evidence; the exact LED maker must explicitly support the original type. Factory HID/LED systems need their own verified solution.
Ask Riglow for help with the original market, model/chassis, production year, body, lighting package and photos of the bulb, markings and connector. Use the main bulb guide for qualified shopping references only after confirming the original bulb type. No product is confirmed as Volvo fitment by this page.
